Bakkt Crypt currency trading platform has started testing Bakkt Cash payment option in Starbucks application. With this option, products in the chain of coffee shops can be purchased for cryptov currencies.

Starbucks representatives stressed that the full launch is not yet available. However, it is very likely to happen in the future, as the coffee chain called Bakkt its "strategic partner". At the moment, in order to pay with Bakkt Cash, the user will need to register in the "early access" program.

"We expect that various cryptov currencies will continue to gain popularity among our customers and, thanks to our cooperation with Bakkt, we can provide them with new and unique payment methods at Starbucks," said a representative of the chain of coffee shops.

Bakkt also plans to launch its own loyalty points, and they can be used in the site's wallet, which will appear this summer. To develop the loyalty program Bakkt even bought a provider of such solutions Bridge2.

Bakkt president Adam White said that the wallet will be able to store loyalty points of different companies, bitcoins and other assets in a single application.

It was recently reported that Bakkt raised $300 million in investments during the B series funding round.
