Hackers hacked into the block-platform of the Argentine government newspaper
Argentine authorities have confirmed that the website of the government newspaper Boletin Oficial, which operates on a blockhead, has been hacked and false information about the distribution of coronavirus has been reported through it. According to the local newspaper El Cronista, hackers tried to directly hack into the newspaper system, but failed. But they managed to find a vulnerability, through which they added false news about the spread of the epidemic. At the same time, the false resolution contained various instructions for government workers on how to deal with an emergency situation involving the Coronavirus. Shortly after a break-in was discovered, Boletin Oficial was shut down for several hours. The government newspaper is the official newspaper of the Argentine government. And according to the decree number 207/2016, the digital version began to be considered the official printing authority. That is, after signing new bills, they are published in Boletin Oficial. The most interesting thing is that so far the false resolution remains available on the website of the government newspaper. It seems that the Argentine authorities have decided to make the resolution added by hackers legitimate. The blocchain platform used by Boletin Oficial — part of the national project Blockchain Federal Argentina, which uses distributed registry technology by public agencies and private companies. In early March, it was announced that the blockchain system through which new companies are registered would be suspended for 180 days. The reason was cited as a desire to ensure closer supervision over company registration.
