Italian bank Banca Sella launches bitcoin trade in quarantine conditions

Italy has declared a national quarantine in connection with the coronavirus pandemic. Against this background, Banca Sella launched a bitcoin trading on its Hype platform.

The bank will act as an intermediary between traders and cryptocurrency exchanges using its platform to reduce security risks for users. Now the citizens of the country are sitting at home, so there is an increased interest in bitcoin and other cryptov currencies as a means of payment.

The Hype platform will not only buy and sell bitcoins, but also pay for goods and services with cryptov currencies. At the same time, 1.2 million Italians are users of the platform. Antonio Valitutti, CEO of Hype, said:

"The cryptovalue market and bitcoin trading in particular continues to attract interest, especially among our customers - by definition young and smart, those who want to access world opportunities through the platform they use every day.

In November last year it was reported that bitcoin is the third most popular tool for online shopping in Italy.
