PayPal is looking for a blockbuster expert to fight financial crime.


   PayPal has opened a position of Anti-Money Laundering Director (AML) and a strategy to develop a blockbuster. He will join the New York office.



The new director will analyze possible applications of the Blockchain for financial crime risk management, monitor AML research, and explore new trends in the field.

In addition, the new employee will analyze the risks associated with the PayPal investment portfolio in the blockchain industry and lead meetings with external partners. Applicants for this position must have at least 10 years experience in legal compliance.

Last year, PayPal invested in Cambridge Blockchain, a company that manages critical data using distributed registry technology. In addition, the payment platform has invested in a crypto-bank startup company, Initialized Capital. PayPal also considered joining the Libra Association, but subsequently gave up this initiative.

PayPal is also engaged in its own research activities in the field of the blocchain. In 2019, the company obtained a patent for a tool that allows to identify extortion programs and eliminate the consequences of their activities.

PayPal CEO Dan Schulman said last November that he owns a bitcoin but does not buy any other cryptographic software.
