The CEO of Binance's largest cryptovoltaic exchange, Changpeng Zhao, doubled his fortune in a year to become the richest man in the cryptovoltaic industry.
According to the Hurun Global Rich List, Changpeng Zhao's fortune is estimated at $2.6 billion. Just a year ago, the assets of Binance's CEO were half of that amount - $1.3 billion.
Co-founder of Bitmain's mining equipment manufacturing company Micree Zhan, who owns $1.6 bln, was in second place in the rating, with his assets having noticeably "lost weight" over the year - last year Zhan's condition was estimated at $2.7 bln.
Last autumn, Jihan Wu replaced Zhan as CEO of Bitmain, and not in a peaceful way. At the same time, Jihan Wu himself did not get into the list this year, although last year his condition was estimated at $1.5 billion.
Founder of OKCoin exchange Xu Mingxing with $1.4 bln assets, executive chairman of Ripple Chris Larsen with $1.3 bln assets, founder of Huobi Li Lin with $1.1 bln assets, as well as Coinbase CEO Brian Armstroing, whose fortune is estimated at $1 bln, were also included in the rating.
Representatives of the cryptovoltaic industry were able to earn impressive fortunes, although they cannot yet compete with the founders of traditional companies. Thus, the fortune of the founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, is $140 billion. Last year, Bezos divorced his wife, who sued him for $44 billion.
Recently, Changpeng Zhao again called the self-proclaimed creator of Bitcoin Craig Wright a fraud.
