The IOTA Foundation reported the resumption of the network

The IOTA network has fully resumed its work. The transactions were suspended after the Trinity wallet was hacked, during which the intruders stole $2.2 million worth of IOTA coins.

In a blog post on the company's blog, representatives of the IOTA Foundation stressed that all users had been transferred to new wallets and the transaction confirmation system was back online. In addition, IOTA co-founder David Sonstebo plans to compensate all users who suffered from the hacking.

"We continue to work with the FBI as well as law enforcement agencies in the UK, Germany and Malta to identify and catch criminals. After the launch of the network coordinator, we are actively monitoring suspicious activity," the company said.

IOTA Foundation also stresses that the company has taken all necessary measures to ensure that the hacking would not happen again. For this purpose, internal processes, approach to security and software updates were reviewed, as well as training of employees was conducted.

The hacking of Trinity wallet took place on February 12. At the same time, the vulnerability itself was detected in the MoonPay service, which allows you to buy coins directly from your wallet. Attackers were able to replace the SDK package, which Trinity Wallet took as legitimate. It was previously assumed that the IOTA network would be restored on March 2.
