Opera has added the ability to purchase ETH and BTC for U.S. residents via Apple Pay and credit cards in iOS and Android mobile browser versions.
As part of its partnership with Startup Wyre, which focuses primarily on users of mobile versions of the browser in the U.S., Opera has added Apple Pay to its iOS application and debit card integration for the Android version. This will enable users to make purchases of BTC and ETH up to $250 per day for $0.3 plus a transaction fee of 2.9%, said Charles Hamel, head of Opera's encryption business.
This restriction in the purchase of cryptocurrency is due to the fact that new features are primarily intended for application developers and everyday users, rather than for investors and speculators.
"Since our built-in encryption wallet is designed to simplify the use of encryption on the Internet and in dApps, we expect that the vast majority of transactions will not reach $250," —, he said.
The company is moving to turn its browser into a Web 3.0 application by adding TRON support and releasing a desktop version of the browser compatible with dApps on the Airwaves. Last October, the Android version of the Opera browser added advanced features that allow you to make bitcoin payments directly from your built-in digital wallet.
Hamel says it will take about 30 seconds to settle the transaction, while the Wyre payment company will store crypto assets. According to the press release, in the near future it is planned to add the possibility of buying cryptov currencies in other countries as well.
