RZD, which is the largest operator of freight and passenger transportation, highly appreciated the potential of the Blockchain technology.
According to Sergey Vinogradov, Director General of the Railway Transport Research Institute, the Blockchain technology can be integrated into the national transport system. The top manager thinks that the railway network can be managed with the help of smart contracts on the basis of the Blockchain and the use of a predictive system of management of transportation and maintenance of container trains.
According to Vinogradov, the future platform based on the blockage will allow the company to apply dynamic pricing, responding to increasing and declining demand:

The solution allows to exclude operations on transshipment and storage of cargoes and to refuse specialized trucks, which cost two or three times more expensive than universal trucks. Introduction of new innovative technologies will allow the company to increase the efficiency of its work, cover any distances, expand the range and volume of cargo, as well as accurately calculate the date of transportation.
