BMW will release a blockage application to protect customers from counterfeiting

The platform based on a distributed registry will be developed together with the VeChain project. The application will collect information about the vehicle: mileage, repairs and additional services.

Car manufacturer BMW in cooperation with VeChain will create a platform on the block list to protect customers from counterfeiting. The decentralized VerifyCar application will run on the VeChainThor network. It will provide information about the vehicle, including mileage, repairs and additional services, according to Fuchsbriefe.

The application is designed to protect the German company's customers from unscrupulous sellers who use deception to inflate the value of the car. The company's statement says that the authenticity of the data will be verified by checking with the information specified in the block list.

Information about the mileage will be collected in real time using BMW equipment. After that, they will be immediately transferred to the Blockchain. The company stressed that this excludes any attempts to "twist" the mileage of the car.

Last summer, it became known that the German car concern Daimler AG, which owns the Mercedes-Benz brand, will produce a hardware crypto wallet based on the Blockchain. Also under development are identifiers, which will be able to receive and evaluate information about the car and the environment.
