Operators of Lightning Network (LN) network nodes working with versions of LND before update 0.11, released on October 1, were offered to perform update in connection with detected vulnerability affecting LND 0.10 and below.
"There is no reason to suppose that vulnerabilities are exploited in "the wild". However, we strongly recommend that the community switch to LND 0.11.0 or higher as soon as possible". - said in an announcement Conner Frommknecht, head of cryptographic engineering at Lightning Labs.
So far LN team has managed to reveal only few details of the problem and Fronknecht assures that on October 20 information about vulnerabilities will be disclosed in full.
It is not the first time when vulnerability is detected in "Lightning Network". Last year LightningLabs technical director Olaoluva Osuntokun confirmed signs that common vulnerabilities and impacts (CVE) are "exploited in the wild".
Recall that Lightning Labs, Blockstream and ACINQ are currently the three main teams working on LN development.
