
The Marketplace announced changes in the management after the beginning of the trial and the arrest of its technical director.
BitMEX has announced changes in the management of 100x Group, the holding group HDR Global Trading Limited, its owner and operator. Arthur Hayes is resigning as general manager of the trading floor, Samuel Reed as technical director, co-founder Ben Delo is also leaving the company. Greg Dwyer, Head of Business Development, will take a leave of absence.
Vivien Khou will take over as interim general manager. She is Chief Operating Officer of the 100x Group, formerly Head of Legal Compliance at Goldman Sachs Asia Pacific and has served on the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission.
In early October, the owners of BitMEX, the second largest cryptoderivatives exchange in terms of trading volumes, including its founder, Arthur Hayes, were investigated. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has accused them of servicing an unregistered trading platform and violating CFTC rules, including those relating to anti-money laundering and customer identification.
The US Department of Justice has also accused Hayes, Reid, the Case and Dwyer of violating bank secrecy laws. The DOJ stressed that Reed, who holds the position of CTO exchange, has been arrested. He will face federal court in Massachusetts.
